The Juniorate encompasses the period between a member’s first profession of vows and his final profession of vows. The purpose of the Juniorate is to prepare the Junior for his profession of final vows.
Having professed the vow of poverty means that all juniors:
- Must have surrendered administration of their property before their first profession;
- Need the permission of the Superior to do anything with their property;
- Must surrender all gifts and earnings to the Superior;
- Have all of their necessary physical needs met by the community.
