Our parish altar servers provide a liturgical ministry for assistance at all parish Masses. Generally, after boys receive their First Holy Communion, they become eligible to be trained as altar servers. The men of the parish are also encouraged to be trained to serve at the Holy Altar of God.  The parish, preserving the tradition of men and boys serving at the altar, hopes to foster many vocations...


The Canons Regular offer online multimedia tutorials for the celebration of the liturgy of the Roman Rite. In addition to serving priests, this presentation of the Liturgy of the Roman Rite will form the laity, both intellectually and spiritually, to understand its sacred ceremonies, and to be transformed by its inestimable beauty.

Biretta Books, which is under the direction of the Canons Regular of St. John Cantius, hopes to re-invigorate the liturgical, sacramental, and devotional life of the Church by offering religious books, musical recordings, CD,s, DVD’s, about the Sacred Liturgy, Catechetics, Spirituality, and Theology and Sacred Music. Biretta Book offers its own line of liturgical vestments and vessels - Seraphic Vestments - which seeks to restore the dignity and grandeur of the Sacred Liturgy by beautifying the Church’s liturgical ceremonies for the greater glory of God.


St. John Cantius Parish is a Roman Catholic parish in the Archdiocese of Chicago which offers the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass according to the Roman Rite in both the Ordinary and Extraordinary Forms.  The Ordinary Form of the Mass, often referred to as the Novus Ordo, is offered both in Latin and in English according to the Missale Romanum, issued by Pope John Paul II in 2003.  St. John Cantius Parish is also privileged to offer daily the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite...


St. Martha's Guild is a group of women from St. John Cantius Church who are attempting to revive the art of liturgical embroidery and needle crafts by learning these art forms and teaching them to anyone that can be enticed into our lively sewing circle.

There’s romance associated with being the ‘starving artist.’ But, in reality, musicians need to make a living like everyone else. Church musicians make large sacrifices of their time and talent throughout the liturgical year so that our ears can be enriched with sacred chant and polyphony.

St. Katharine Drexel Parish is a Roman Catholic parish in the diocese of Springfield which offers the Mass in both English and Spanish according to the 2003 Missale Romanum, as well as in Latin, according to the Missale Romanum of 1962. The Parish is made of two churches, Sacred Heart Church and St. Patrick Church.

Both are considered Historic Churches of the Springfield diocese.


The Catholic Art Guild is an all-volunteer, 501c3 non-profit organization created in support of Catholic art and artists. The mission of The Guild is to guide artists toward participation in the new evangelization, thus answering the calls of Pope Saint John Paul II, Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, and Pope Paul VI, all of whom encouraged artists to use their gifts to aid the Church and for the greater glory of God. The Catholic Art Guild is a community focused on beauty and its captivating power to convert souls. The Guild is corporeally and spiritually based out of the parish of St. John Cantius in Chicago, IL.


This year of 2018 marks an anniversary year Healey Willan (1880-1968) was a Canadian composer of remarkable musical insight and ability. The Healey Willan Society, established in 2011, is now preparing to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of his death with an energetic campaign to promote the study and performance of his music.

 


St. Anne’s Chapel in Lawton, Michigan, is a quiet retreat location for the members of the Canons Regular of St. John Cantius. In 2001, the Dietz family donated to the Canons Regular of St. John Cantius 96 acres of farmland in Lawton, which will be the site of a future retreat center.

The beauty of the sacred vestments and vessels of the liturgy should lead us to contemplate the sacred and reflect the beauty of God in our lives.
