Canons Regular of St. John Cantius

From the day he first enters noviate, the religious is being formed into the image of Christ his Divine Model. This transformation is both interior by growth in holiness and virtues, and also exterior by the habit which is the outward sign of consecration. For those going on to the Priesthood, the Sacrament of Holy Orders changes the very essence of his soul for all eternity.

The first step of noviate is the reception of the full Habit of our community which includes the collar, fringed-sash, and Rosary. The day of investiture always falls on December 23rd, the Feast of St. John Cantius. We ask for your prayers for all our novices that received the full Habit this year.

On December 2, 2011 three seminarians from the Canons Regular of St. John Cantius were advanced to the Order of Acolyte by Bishop Michael Cote from the Diocese of Norwich, CT. Congratulations to Br. Kevin Mann, Br. Joshua Caswell, and Br. Nathan Caswell. The Canons Regular have seven men studying for the priesthood at Holy Apostles Seminary. This upcoming May, with the help of God, Deacon Scott Thelander and Br. Robin Kwan will be ordained to the Priesthood and Deaconate respectively.

In addition, we are pleased to announce that Fr. Dennis Kolinski, S.J.C. has been placed on the faculty at Holy Apostles Seminary to offer courses on the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite as well as on the Liturgy. Please pray for all our brothers and seminarians as they continue their preparation for the priesthood.
