St. Peter’s Parish is a Roman Catholic parish in the Archdiocese of Chicago which offers the Mass in both English and Spanish according to the 2003 Missale Romanum, as well as in Latin, according to the Missale Romanum of 1962.

The first structure, which was built in 1868 to serve the Germans, who settled around Volo was destroyed by fire before its dedication. Another small church was constructed by the following year and it served as a mission church with only occasional weekday Masses. It wasn’t until 1904 that St. Peter’s was finally established as a separate parish with regular Sunday Masses.

The present Gothic structure dates from 1925, and was inspired by Cardinal Mundelein, then Archbishop of Chicago. Its richly ornamented interior has remained virtually untouched and the exceptional beauty of this small country church continues to charm people.

St. Peter’s is a vibrant, fast-growing family parish that is rooted in the traditions of our Catholic faith. Its catechetical and spiritual formation program for young people are particularly important aspects of the parish.
